Global K9 Protection Group-Aviation Service LLC, in Opelika, has received an $11.3 million contract from the U.S. Army Special Operations Command for multi-purpose canine handler training.
The contract is to be performed over a 12-month period, beginning May 2, 2022, with four additional 12-month ordering periods that can be activated, which if activated would take the contract through 2027. The minimum contract award is $125,000.
Global K9 Protection Group uses proprietary video capture and information management software to create performance metrics, which acts as the base in their framework for canine and handler training.
The company is a veteran owned and operated business and has a staff comprised of air cargo industry experts, senior explosive ordnance disposal experts, canine professionals and others. The company originally focused on working in the cargo-screening industry and has developed the largest facility dedicated to the development and training of canines and handlers for cargo screening.
