Doster Construction Co. has completed construction on an expansion to the Hanon Systems Warehouse in Shorter, Alabama.
The project included a 35,000-square-foot addition to the original warehouse built in 2014. Doster worked with architect DesignForm of Birmingham on the design-build project for developer Hokanson Companies.
Hanon Systems Alabama Corp. established its Alabama plant in 2003 and has expanded multiple times since then. The company makes automotive climate products including heating, ventilation and air conditioning units and front-end modules for various automotive manufacturers.
The Korean company also has locations in Ohio and Michigan in the United States. Worldwide, the company has more than 21,000 employees at 51 manufacturing sites and three regional innovation centers.
Earlier this month, Hanon Systems acquired the condenser business of Keihin Corp., helping to expand its ability to supply automakers with condenser technology. The acquisition included Keihin operations in the Czech Republic, Mexico, and a portion of the condenser business in the United States.
Doster Construction was founded in 1969 and provides general contracting, construction management and design build services in the multifamily, hospitality, health care, commercial, industrial and educational sectors.
