Decatur-based MICOR Industries has acquired Magnus Hi-Tech of Melbourne, Florida.
MICOR, founded in 1999, is a precision machining company serving the aerospace, defense and medical manufacturing industries. Magnus serves the aerospace industry.
The MICOR/Magnus combination positions the company to offer more vertically integrated capabilities, serving a wider array of customers’ needs while being able to provide shorter lead times. With the merger, MICOR offers CNC machining for routine and exotic materials, sheet metal fabrication, welding, painting, heat treating, anodizing, assembly, laser marking, laser cutting, EDM cutting, metal etching, metal fabrication and complex assembly. MICOR also hopes to expand its aerospace customer base with the location in Florida that Magnus brings to the merger.
“This acquisition is really a blending of two strong, successful companies that, together, will provide tremendous value to our customers,” said MICOR CEO Julius Uhlmann.
MICOR Melbourne General Manager Frank Bonarrigo added, “Becoming part of the MICOR family allows us to better serve our customers. It’s a great fit from a culture and capabilities perspective. We’re stronger.”
