Faith Technologies is planning a $79 million investment to transform an existing building in Opelika into an advanced manufacturing facility.

The Wisconsin-based company plans to convert the former JoAnn Stores distribution center in the Northeast Opelika Industrial Park. The project is expected to create about 200 new full-time jobs, according to Faith Technologies.

“Faith Technologies’ $79 million investment in Opelika demonstrates Alabama’s growing strength as a premier destination for advanced manufacturing and innovation,” said Ellen McNair, Alabama’s secretary of commerce. “This project brings 200 high-quality jobs to East Alabama, reinforcing our state’s competitive advantages — a skilled workforce, strategic location and pro-business climate.”

FTI manufactures engineered electrical assemblies and modular solutions through its Excellerate brand. The company has facilities in Wisconsin and Kansas and has another planned in El Paso, Texas.

“We are proud to welcome FTI to Opelika,” said Eddie Smith, mayor of Opelika. “This investment represents new jobs and new facilities as well as confidence in our people, our leadership and our business-friendly environment. FTI will be an important partner in our community, and we look forward to growing together as they help support the future of modern infrastructure.”
