Simpson Strong-Tie is a manufacturer of structural construction products, including steel connectors, fasteners and anchors. Veyer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Office Depot, provides logistics and final-mile delivery services to Fortune 500 and eCommerce companies.

Simpson is making an investment of $7.5 million, while Veyer is investing $9.8 million.

“It’s always a good day when we welcome new businesses into Mobile,” said Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson. “These are two great companies, and their investment in our area is a testament to all we have to offer. I look forward to Simpson Strong-Tie and Veyer providing great opportunities for Mobilians as they expand their businesses.”

The announcement comes as the Port of Mobile, about 12 miles from the industrial park, continues to grow.
