The Sanders Trust, a Birmingham-based real estate investment development company, has completed construction of Anderson Rehabilitation Institute in Illinois.

The institute is a 34-bed, 50,000-square-foot facility that will be managed by Kindred Healthcare for Anderson Healthcare. It will serve individuals needing treatment or recovery of a loss of function due to an injury or illness. It opens its doors on Aug. 1.

“This development will deliver first-class healthcare services to the Edwardsville community,” said Rance Sanders, president and CEO of The Sanders Trust.

The institute features all private rooms, a secured brain injury unit with private dining and therapy gym, and other amenities. It also features a transitional living apartment that will help prepare patients for daily living tasks once they are discharged.

Korte Construction, of St. Louis, provided construction management services and Earl Swensson Associates, of Nashville, served as the architectural firm on the project.
