Premium Plate, a TF Warren Co., is investing more than $20 million in a new facility and equipment in Axis. The new facility will expand the company’s steel processing capabilities and establish a permanent operation in Mobile County.
The project will create 12 new jobs over the next two years.
“This project represents an important milestone for our company and demonstrates TF Warren’s continued commitment to investing in Premium Plate, our employees, our customers and the Gulf Coast region,” said Chad Odom, general manager of Premium Plate.
Premium Plate provides mill-certified plate and structural steel products in a variety of grades to the construction, oil and gas, power generation, pressure vessels, marine, transportation and tank manufacturing industries.
Premium Plate has previously operated from leased facilities in Mobile County, most recently in Chickasaw.
“Premium Plate knows the benefits of doing business in Mobile County, and this purpose-built facility represents a significant commitment to staying and growing here,” said Mobile County District 1 Commissioner Merceria Ludgood. “That growth means new opportunities for residents and a stronger local economy.”
The facility is expected to open in January 2027.
