Precision Homecrafters acquires Birmingham-based furniture maker

Lovewood Studio will expand Precision’s in-house design/build offerings

Dave Hayes, left, and Joshua Dean will now work together as Lovewood Studio has merged into Precision Homecrafters.

Precision Homecrafters, a Birmingham-based design/build remodeling firm, has acquired Lovewood Studio, a custom cabinetry and furniture maker also based in Birmingham.

The acquisition will expand Precision’s in-house design/build offerings to include bespoke woodwork, providing a one-stop solution for the company’s clientele, according to Precision President Joshua Dean.

Another key draw for the acquisition was the experience the Lovewood team, including owner Dave Hayes, brings to the merger. Dean has been acquainted with Hayes since 2009, when they both spent time at Appleseed Workshop.

“I’ve known and admired Dave Hayes for many years. He’s an excellent, uncompromising craftsman,” said Dean. “He has a well-earned reputation in the market for meeting and exceeding client expectations.”

Hayes cited the desire to return to woodworking. “Moving the Lovewood cabinet business under the Precision Homecrafters umbrella will allow the business to grow and allow me to focus my time on my passions, which are producing quality work and meeting customer needs.”
