Tim Arnold kneels down by road.

Tim Arnold isn’t your typical guest on the Business Alabama podcast. He’s not a CEO or really involved in a business … yet.

What he has done, though, is create Auburn’s “Musical Road,” a stretch of road headed to Jordan-Hare Stadium that is fast becoming a tourist attraction. It plays the first seven notes of Auburn’s fight song, “War Eagle,” as you drive over it.

Arnold’s hope is that the road he and his cohorts devised – one that doesn’t wear down as quickly as some others – might lead to a business of some sort. He envisions the Sugar Bowl devoting musical roads to each of its competing teams, or other college towns wanting their own fight songs laid down in asphalt.

Arnold talks about taking an idea and actually running with it, attributing it to some advice he once received from director Steven Spielberg.
