The assisted-living community will add dementia-related care in 2023

Legacy Ridge at Trussville is expanding to serve Alzheimer’s and dementia-related residents.

Legacy Ridge at Trussville, an assisted-living community operated by Atlas Senior Living, is expanding to add Alzheimer’s and dementia-related care to residents starting in 2023.

“We have officially broken ground on building a memory-care section of our community,” said Abbey Fowler, sales and marketing director of Legacy Ridge at Trussville.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, as many as 5.8 million Americans were living with Alzheimer’s disease in 2020.

Established in 2009, Legacy Ridge at Trussville currently provides assisted living services to its residents, who live in private and semi-private apartments. The care includes medication management, one-on-one care, health and wellness assessments, dietitian consultation and brain fitness and memory enhancement programs. The facility also provides weekly housekeeping and transportation to local shopping and has an on-site beauty and barber salon, theater room and more.

The facility also offers respite care for temporary stays, based on apartment availability.
