Ford Meter Box is planning a $23.2 million expansion at its facility in Pell City, according to the St. Clair County Economic Development Council.

The Indiana-based manufacturer of underground waterworks products, which has had a presence in Pell City since 1982, will build a new 60,000-square-foot building and invest in new equipment that will allow for fabrication of large-diameter steel components and increased production capacity.

“St. Clair County always welcomes new investment and quality jobs to our community,” said Stan Batemon, chairman of the St. Clair County Commission. “We are happy to be able to work with the City of Pell City to encourage growth among the companies in St. Clair County. This investment opens doors for new opportunities for our citizens now and in the future.”
