Fontaine Heavy-Haul introduces new trailer for construction industry

Fontaine Heavy-Haul has introduced a versatile new trailer for the road construction industry. The Fontaine Workhorse 55PVR features a low approach angle ideal for ground hugging pavers and a removable center bogie section to accommodate excavators.

With manufacturing locations in Springville and Haleyville, Alabama, Fontaine has one of the largest platform trailer brands in the world, encompassing aluminum, steel and composite trailers for the flatbed, drop deck and heavy-haul markets. Its latest trailer is built for durability.

“It boasts 55 tons in 16 feet or 50 tons in 12 feet with three or four axles close coupled; so, it can handle a wide variety of concentrated loads,” says Todd Anderson, vice president of sales and marketing. “In addition, a four-point lift system makes it easy to remove the bogie center platform creating a low boom well. So, if you need to haul a miller, paver, roller or even an excavator to build a road, this trailer will haul it.”

The Workhorse 55PVR comes equipped with hydraulic removable gooseneck that can connect to or disconnect from the deck on uneven ground. A wide variety of accessories are also available.
