Doster Construction Co. will break ground later this month on Constellation, a large mixed-use development in Huntsville that has been in the planning stages for quite some time and is expected to result in an investment of close to $100 million when complete.
Doster is partnering with Chicago-based developer Heartland Real Estate Partners LLC on the first phase of the 25-acre project, which will include an apartment development and parking deck.
The 219-unit luxury apartment complex will include studio to three-bedroom units. The apartment complex should be complete in spring of 2022. The apartment complex is set to border Heart of Huntsville Drive.
The mixed-use development was designed by Built Form Architects of Chicago. Subsequent phases call for two office buildings, restaurants and retail space. The restaurant/retail district is to front Clinton Avenue nearest to the parkway traffic.
Coldwell Banker Commercial McLain Real Estate teamed with Heartland Development Services to form Constellation LLC to develop the property. In 2019, D. Scott McLain said plans called for one of the two office buildings to include a tower that could be as tall as 20 floors.
