Huntsville homebuilder Davidson Homes is expanding into Texas and will begin building its first homes in Houston by July.

Texas is the fourth state the company has expanded to in four years, and it now owns or controls more than 8,000 lots in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

“Texas is an important strategic growth market that will allow us to build on the incredibly strong foundation we have established,” said Adam Davidson, founder, president and CEO. “Texas and Houston have been on our radar for a while, but we needed the right person on our team. “

Davidson says that person is Jim Rorison, who will lead the company’s operations in Houston as division president. He has 35 years of homebuilding and finance experience, including two decades in Houston.

“We are confident he will further our mission of providing quality homes at affordable prices to homebuyers in the Southeast,” Davidson said.
