
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Alabama Chapter will honor winners in eight categories at its National Philanthropy Day awards luncheon on Nov. 13 in Birmingham.
AFP Alabama recognizes individuals, corporations, foundations, civic and service groups, and nonprofit organizations across the state whose efforts change the face of the community.
This year’s honorees are:
William M. and Virginia B. Spencer Outstanding Philanthropist – Mike Thompson, nominated by Community Food Bank of Central Alabama
United Way of Central Alabama Outstanding Civic Leader – Tracey Morant Adams, Ph.D., nominated by United Way of Central Alabama
Outstanding Corporate Citizen – Regions Bank, nominated by Community Food Bank of Central Alabama and Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham
Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham Outstanding Professional Advisor – Frank C. “Butch” Ellis Jr., nominated by University of Montevallo Foundation
William S. Roth Outstanding Fundraising Executive – Jim Trotter, nominated by Walker Area Community Foundation
Protective Life Outstanding Charitable Organization – Navigate Affordable Housing Partners, nominated by Children’s Aid Society of Alabama
Bill Moran Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy – Zach Goldman and Raeed Kabir, nominated by The University of Alabama
AFP Alabama Chapter IDEA Award – Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, nominated by Children’s Aid Society of Alabama
The Association of Fundraising Professionals has more than 24,000 members in 226 chapters throughout 34 countries and regions, and the organization works to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.
