UA survey: Alabama business leaders have negative outlook on economy

The latest Alabama Business Confidence Index from the UA Center for Business and Economic Research shows that Alabama business leaders, for the first time in eight years, have a negative outlook when it comes to the economy. The index number of 47.3 was down more than seven points over the previous quarter. A number over 50 indicates a positive outlook. – Alabama Political Reporter

 

Demolition begins at Birmingham’s Carraway site

Demolition has begun at the old Carraway Hospital in Birmingham, a major step forward for The Star at Uptown development. The first of eight buildings is being torn down, while several structures on the site, including parking decks and the main hospital building, will be refurbished. – Birmingham Times

Gadsden State plans new Advanced Manufacturing Center

Gadsden State Community College plans a 50,000-square-foot Advanced Manufacturing Center at the school’s campus. The facility will offer courses to students at Gadsden State and Etowah County High Schools, as well as training to local employees. – WBRC 6

 

Coastal Alabama college has new health care studies
