The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Collat School of Business ranks 48th on The Princeton Review’s Top Graduate Schools for Entrepreneurship Studies 2021 list. Tennessee company will build Huntsville homes
Tennessee-based Goodall Homes will be the exclusive builder of more than 400 homes at Huntsville’s Hays Farm development near Redstone Arsenal. Hays Farm will feature more than 400 acres of green space, as well as 440 single-family homes, 600 multi-family units, office space and retail space. – AL.com
Downtown Tuscaloosa will get new hotel
An Element by Westin hotel will be built at the intersection of 21st Avenue and Jack Warner Parkway in Tuscaloosa. The 94-room hotel has been approved by the city council, although there is no timeline for its construction, yet. – Tuscaloosa News
Food Bank Association receives $3.6 million state grant
The Alabama Food Bank Association has received a $3.6 million grant from Gov. Kay Ivey’s Nonprofit Grant Program, which is part of the CARES Act funding. The money will be used to support the Feeding America food banks in Alabama. – Alabama Food Bank Association/Twitter
Poarch Creek Indians join other founders of state agriculture program
The Poarch Creek Indians have become a founding member of Sweet Grown Alabama, a nonprofit that focuses on locally grown produce and other products. The tribe joins other founding members that include the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, Alabama Farm Credit, Alabama Farmers Cooperative, Alfa Farmers, First South Farm Credit, PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, Alabama AG Credit and the Alabama Association of RC&D Councils. – Alabama Political Reporter
