Huntsville-based Aevum unveils autonomous rocket carrier
Aevum, a private startup in Huntsville, has unveiled its autonomous Ravn X aircraft rocket carrier in Jacksonville, Florida, on Thursday. The aircraft will be part of launching missions for the U.S. Space Force out of Jacksonville. – WKMG 6 

Power plant smokestack toppled at TVA plant
Crew hired by the Tennessee Valley Authority toppled a 1,000-foot-tall smoke stack at the old Widows Creek Fossil Plant in Bridgeport, Alabama. Part of a $66 million clean-up project, the land will be ready for sale and redevelopment next year. – WTVA

First Alabama QuickTrip to break ground
Oklahoma-based QuickTrip will break ground on its first Alabama gas station and convenience store before the end of the year. The 8,200-square-foot store will be built in Calera on seven acres near I-65.  – Shelby County Reporter 

Deadline today for Revive Plus grant applications
Businesses, nonprofit and faith-based groups have until noon today to apply for grants of up to $20,000 through the Revive Plus program, part of Alabama’s CARES Act funding. The application process is being administered by the Alabama Department of Finance. – Alabama Department of Finance

Deadline Sunday for Rural Relief Small Business Grants applications
The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is offering grants for small businesses in rural communities with a population of 50,000 or less. There will be three rounds of grants, and deadline for the first is Sunday at 11:59 p.m. Nonprofits are not eligible for the relief funding in the first round. – Local Initiatives Support Corporation
