Alliance aims to strengthen construction workforce
An alliance of state agencies, nonprofits and other entities are banding together to address the issue of finding skilled labor in Alabama. AlabamaWorks! announced the Alabama Construction Workforce Alliance, which currently consists of the Alabama Associated General Contractors, the Alabama Roadbuilders Association, the Alabama Workforce Council, the Alabama Construction Research Institute and Auburn University. – Construction & Demolition Recycling 

Nashville sports bar moving into Alabama
The popular Nashville sports bar Jonathan’s Grille is planning two locations in Alabama – in Madison’s Clift Farm and at Town Madison. It will be Jonathan’s Grille’s first expansion outside of Middle Tennessee, where it has eight locations. – Nashville Business Journal

Google Fiber is testing its new internet speed, 2 Gbps, in Huntsville and in Nashville. The new service costs $100 a month and includes installation of the Wi-Fi router and mesh extender. – Brinkwire 

U-Haul purchases Mobile retail center
U-Haul has purchased St. Francis Plaza on Government Street in Mobile for $2.4 million. U-Haul will use the vacant spaces as leases expire in the nearly 74,000-square-foot facility. –
