‘Site Selection’ ranks Alabama high for business climate
Alabama ranks 7th in the 2020 analysis of business climates by “Site Selection,” a national publication about economic development. The state rose two spots from its ranking last year. Site selectors said workforce skills were the most important factor for them. – Made in Alabama

Command Alkon buys construction logistics business
Birmingham-based Command Alkon has acquired Trimble’s construction logistics business. Trimble’s TrimFleet suite of products will move forward under the name of TFleet. The price of the transaction was not disclosed. – Equipment Journal

Barkley to give Tuskegee University $1 million
Charles Barkley, who played for nearby Auburn University before going on to the NBA Hall of Fame, will give $1 million to Tuskegee University, his fifth major donation to a historically black college. Barkley has already pledged $1 million each to Alabama A&M University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College and Miles College.  – AL.com

Brasfield & Gorrie breaks ground on Pensacola health facility
Baptist Health Care held a virtual groundbreaking event for construction of its new health campus. It’s the largest investment in health care facilities, services and programs in Northwest Florida’s history. Birmingham’s Brasfield & Gorrie is general contractor, and Gresham Smith, also in Birmingham, is the architect. Construction is expected to be completed in 2023. – Baptist Health Care
