Southwest adding nonstop flights in Birmingham

Southwest Airlines is adding nonstop flights out of Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport to Phoenix and Nashville. The new flights will begin in November. – Bham Now

The Saban Center, a STEM center in Tuscaloosa scheduled to open in 2027, will partner with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to enhance water literacy and promote STEM education across the state. The design process for the Saban Center should end later this year.  – Bama Buzz

Huntsville approves new recreation center

The Huntsville City Council has approved a $7 million project to build a recreation center in West Huntsville. The approved contract for the Martin Road Recreation Center is with Florida-based Chorba Contracting Corp. – News 19
