Ternion Corp.’s Huntsville site was recently awarded a $13.3 million contract to create flight simulation software for the U.S. Marine Corp.
The contract provides for the development, sustainment, maintenance and procurement of the FLAMES Automated Simulation Trainer (FAST), which is used as a training simulation with the USMC Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S).
The first delivery of the contract covers FAST operations, maintenance, research, development and test and evaluation, as well as the procurement of multiple FAST editor licenses.
FLAMES (Flexible Analysis Modeling and Exercise System) is the framework for developing simulations and interfaces between constructive, virtual and live simulations. FAST is a custom simulation to serve training exercises.
The work on this contract will be performed by Ternion’s Huntsville location.
Ternion, since 1989, has developed commercial off-the-shelf simulations and custom simulations tailored for specific requirements, mostly for the aerospace, defense and transportation industries worldwide.
