Ascension St. Vincent's Chilton provides general acute care and outpatient services, as well as advanced imaging and diagnostic services

Ascension St. Vincent’s Chilton is a 30-bed hospital providing general acute care and outpatient services, including a 24-hour emergency department, medical/surgical units, inpatient and outpatient surgical services, critical care, transitional care, lab and gastroenterology services. Other services include advanced imaging and diagnostic services: x-ray, MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography and bone density testing.

Ascension St. Vincent’s Chilton has added a new pain management practice. Also, the hospital is able to consult with University of Alabama at Birmingham neurologists for its stroke program, part of a growing alliance. In December 2021, the hospital opened a wound center for patients whose wounds are slow to heal.

In summer 2022, the hospital is expected to upgrade its mammography services with 3D mammogram technology. In fall 2022, the hospital will seek to add an inpatient substance abuse detox unit.

Also recently, the hospital was recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services with a five-star award for patient satisfaction, the highest possible. It also earned an “A” grade from The Leapfrog Group for patient safety. The hospital also earned the 800 Award from Reputation.com for its online presence.
