Auburn firm lands $64.6 million vials contract

Sio2, the Auburn firm that has produced vials for the COVID-19 vaccine, has received a $64.6 million contract to increase its domestic production capacity. The expansion will allow SiO2 to design, develop and build three vial production systems, bringing production to 10 million vials per month by July 2024. – U.S. Department of Defense

PS Logistics acquires Patriot Transit and Logistics

PS Holdco, the parent company of Birmingham-based PS Logisitics, has purchased Patriot Transit and Patriot Logistics, both based in Texas. Patriot has a fleet of 75 drivers. PS Logistics has acquired 22 trucking and brokerage operations since 2007.  – Commercial Carrier Journal

Trans-Pacific air freight service coming to Huntsville

Kerry Freight Controlled Network, a new Trans-Pacific air freight service designed to connect multiple Asian locations to the U.S., will begin flights out of Huntsville this month. Kerry will have a hub at the airport, operating inbound and outbound air cargo flights and trucking connections. – Retail News Asia

United adding flights for UA, AU football games

United Airlines is adding 74 flights across the country on football gameday weekends this fall, including some from Birmingham to away-game locations for the University of Alabama and Auburn University. United will offer flights for the Auburn-Penn State game on Sept. 18 and the Alabama-Texas A&M game on Oct. 9. – AL.com
