Silver Ships awarded $8.2 million Navy contract

Theodore-based Silver Ships was recently awarded an $8.2 million Navy contract. The contract is for crafts for both the Navy and the Coast Guard. The contract is through the Naval Sea Systems Command. – Defense Daily

Austal USA launched two Navy ships from its Mobile shipyard this week. Austal is touting the dual launches, of the USNS Cody and USS Kingsville, as an example of the shipyard’s efficiency. – Austal USA

 

Venerable Golden Rule has new owner

Trussville restaurateur Brian Kemp has purchased the original Golden Rule Bar-B-Que in Irondale. The company says the restaurant is the oldest in the state and the 16^th-oldest in the country. – AL.com
