The newly named Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville will open May 13-14 with a lineup that includes Jason Isbell, Emmylou Harris, Brittany Howard, St. Paul & the Broken Bones and others. The amphitheater’s capacity is about 8,000. – AL.com

Ivey names new chief of staff

Liz Dowe Filmore, formerly Gov. Kay Ivey’s deputy chief of staff, has been named chief of staff. She replaces Jo Bonner, who left to become president of the University of South Alabama. – Alabama Daily News
