The Southeastern Conference gave $741 million to the conference’s 14 universities in revenue distribution for the 2022-23 fiscal year.  Schools in the SEC, which include the University of Alabama and Auburn University, received an average of $51.3 million. – Southeastern Conference

Bronze Valley names 5 to accelerator

Five startups, including Birmingham-based Kai CR, will each receive a $100,000 investment as part of the 12-week Bronze Valley Investment Accelerator. Other startups chosen for the Birmingham program are from Georgia, Arizona, New York and Florida.  – Bham Now

Washington state restaurant coming to Birmingham

Wooden City, a Washington state-based restaurant, will open a location on Morris Avenue in downtown Birmingham in the fall. The restaurant has locations in Tacoma and Spokane in Washington, as well as Chattanooga, Tennessee.  – Bham Now
