Regions faces trust mismanagement allegations

A lawsuit filed against Regions Financial Corp. says the bank mismanaged a charitable trust named for a former Alabama secretary of state. Among other things, the bank allegedly charged exorbitant fees and steered scholarship money to children of trust board members of the Mabel Amos Trust. Regions told AL.com its fees are consistent with industry rates.  – AL.com

 

Birmingham’s Pizitz building for sale

The Pizitz, an iconic building in downtown Birmingham that underwent a $70 million renovation beginning in 2014, is for sale. Cushman & Wakefield is listing the property, which includes 143 apartments, the Pizitz Food Hall, two movie theaters and the administrative offices of the Sidewalk Film Festival and a coworking office space called Forge. The property is on Second Avenue North in the heart of the city’s theater district.  – The Birmingham Times

Tuscaloosa’s McFarland Plaza sold

The Jefferson County Commission approved more than $1.4 million in federal Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act funds for Jefferson State Community College and the Dannon Project for Occupational Training and Work Based Learning Programs.
