Worker dies at Phenix City lumber mill

For the second time in three years, a worker has died at the Phenix Lumber Company in Phenix City. This time a maintenance employee was killed by a piece of equipment. – Ledger-Enquirer

T-Mobile to lay off 5,000 workers

T-Mobile, which said it would add 11,000 jobs by 2024 when it merged with Sprint in 2019, is instead laying off 5,000 workers. The company announced layoff plans Thursday. – Alabama Public Radio
