One of the largest industrial projects underway in 2023, the J.M. Smucker Co. plant in McCalla is expected to be ready to begin production in May 2024. The $1.1 billion project is the largest capital investment in Jefferson County. The plant will make Uncrustables pre-made frozen sandwiches.
