Ram Tool acquired by Georgia firm White Cap

Both firms specialize in construction tools

Birmingham-based Ram Tool Construction Supply Co. has been acquired by Georgia-based White Cap Supply Holdings LLC.

Founded in 1967 in Birmingham, Ram Tool had grown to include locations across Alabama and in Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC.

Woman-owned since Mimi Head purchased the business from founder Dee Gonder, Mimi’s daughter Hillery Head has been CEO since 2009, sharing leadership with her sister, Maye.

White Cap CEO John Stegeman and President Alan Sollenberger will lead the combined firm, with Ram Tool President Page Naftel becoming chief sales officer.

The combination enhances products, services and locations for White Cap, Sollenberger added.

White Cap has 400 branches across the U.S. and Canada with more than 7,000 employees.
