Poarch Band of Creek Indians names CFO
Suresh Greer, who spent 21 years on the financial team for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, has been named CFO of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. The tribe’s business interests include Owa Parks & Resort in Foley and Wind Creek casinos in Atmore, Wetumpka and Montgomery. There are also 10 Wind Creek Hospitality locations outside of Alabama. – AL.com

Reed to be named president of African American Mayors Association
Steven Reed, mayor of Montgomery, is expected to be named president of the African American Mayors Association later this week. Reed is also the only mayor in Alabama to serve on the board of trustees for the U.S. Council of Mayors. – Alabama Political Reporter
Cahaba refuge reclamation project completed
The Cahaba National Wildlife Refuge is celebrating the completion of the $8.5 million Piper Mine reclamation project. The money came through the Alabama Department of Labor Abandoned Mine Land Program. – Bham Now
