In its first formal request made public, Pilgrim’s Pride has written the Gadsden Airport Authority about 88 acres of airport property for the construction of a rendering plant. The company asked that the property be rezoned from light industrial to heavy industrial.  – The Gadsden Times

Jasper group receives quality award for fifth consecutive year
For the fifth consecutive year, Fontaine Fifth Wheel, based in Jasper, has received the Paccar 10 PPM Quality Achievement Award. That means the supplier shipped the equivalent of fewer than 10 defective parts per million to Paccar, which designs and manufactures trucks. Encompass names CEO for home health, hospice
Birmingham-based Encompass has named Barbara A. Jacobsmeyer as its new CEO for home health and hospice. Jacobsmeyer was previously president of in-patient hospitals for the company. Encompass has 344 home health and hospice locations nationwide. – Home Health Care News
