Owa has opened a $70 million expansion in Foley.

Owa Parks & Resort in Foley has opened a $70 million expansion that includes a 30,000-square-foot outdoor wave pool.

Other new attractions include a surf simulator, stage, restaurant and bar.

“Tropic Falls is currently the only indoor waterpark in the United States with both a retractable roof and sidewall adjoining an outdoor water park,” said Kristin Hellmich, director of external communications, Poarch Band of Creek Indians, “making OWA a stand-out destination for family fun and entertainment.”  The Poarch Band owns and operates Owa Parks & Resort.

Owa Parks & Resort is a 14-acre theme park, featuring 23 rides and attractions.

“The Tropic Falls expansion has been more than three years in the making and is evidence of our continued commitment to seeing our vision through at OWA,” said Cody Williamson, president/CEO of Creek Indian Enterprises Development Authority. “Leading the development arm of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, we focus on continually investing in projects, like Owa, which allow us to remain a strong economic partner for the State of Alabama.”
