The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has set a maximum fine of nearly $200,000 for Haier US Appliance Solutions, also known as GE Appliances. The fine comes after OSHA’s investigation of the Decatur plant following workplace injuries that led to the death of a line supervisor in July 2024. – AL.com

New mixed-use development coming to Homewood

West Row, a mixed-use development that will include lofts and two new locations for Birmingham restaurants, should open in West Homewood this spring. The restaurants El Barrio and Paramount are planning to move to the development on the former Econo Lodge site on Oxmoor Road. – Bham Now
