Year-to-date, Alabama has seen 33.3% more online job ads compared to the first half of last year. The occupations with the most online job ads are registered nurses, heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers, retail salespeople, sales representatives, wholesale and manufacturing, and retail supervision. – Alabama Political Reporter

 

Birmingham restaurant gone after 27 years

Superior Grill, a fixture on Birmingham’s U.S. 280 since 1995, has closed its doors. The Mexican chain’s Louisiana restaurants will remain open. – Bham Now

Huntsville updating master plan

The City of Huntsville is seeking help in updating its Big Picture master plan. Mayor Tommy Battle said the city will look at the plan over the next few months and, based on what’s happened since its release in 2018, determine any changes that need to be made. – AL.com

 

Wallace State offering workforce bootcamps

Wallace States’ Center for Career and Workforce Development and Adult Education Department are hosting short-term training boot camps beginning in August. Offerings include automation technician, diesel technology, medical assistant certification and mental health technician. There is a $75 registration fee. – Wallace State Community College
