The Admiral Hotel, located in downtown Mobile, has unveiled its renovation.

Incorporating bright jewel tones of purples, reds and golds, the renovation took inspiration from the city’s French-colonial roots established by its founding in the late 17th century by French explorer Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville.

“Our revival of The Admiral Hotel seeks to honor Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville’s legacy in a way that’s never been done before. We delved deep into Mobile’s origins, exploring its identity beyond its Mardi Gras roots,” said Jon Waltz, owner of Avocent Hospitality. “This journey ignited our passion for Pierre’s story, leading us to create a destination that mirrors the grandeur of the French court.”

The renovation was designed by Lisa Weitz, co-founder of Avocent Hospitality, and includes a blend of nature and culture, highlighted by mirrors, portraits, an upside-down oak tree chandelier and other accents.

The 156-room hotel is also home to Le Moyne’s Chophouse, the hotel’s restaurant that opens Aug. 19. The restaurant will serve prime-aged meats, fresh Gulf seafood and locally grown ingredients from The Admiral’s honeybee colony and herb garden located on the roof.
