Applications for the third round of funding through the Innovate Alabama Supplemental Grant Program open on June 1.

Up to $250,000 in supplemental funding will be available for recipients of Phase I and Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants.

“We’ve already witnessed incredible results from our first two rounds of supplemental grant funding, and I’m eager to see what impact we can have with this third round,” said Cynthia Crutchfield, Innovate Alabama CEO. “Alabama has a long history of innovation, from the early days of the steel industry to the Saturn V rocket. Through this funding, we are excited to build on that history with new, innovative companies growing within our great state, and more coming every day.”

Since Innovate Alabama launched the supplemental grant program, more than $7.6 million has been awarded to 44 recipients in nine Alabama cities. This includes 12 minority- and women-owned small businesses.

Applications for the third round of funding open June 1 and close June 30. Innovate Alabama will offer a free virtual workshop May 23-24 with BIO Alabama for those looking to apply for federal funding.
