Committee approves incentives for $80 million Birmingham development

The Birmingham City Council Economic Development and Tourism Committee approved incentives for an $80 million mixed-use development planned for the former Sherman Industries concrete site near Railroad Park. The Silos, a project of Birmingham’s Novu Development Group, now moves on to the city’s Budget and Finance committee.  – Bham Now

UAB among top tier of online colleges

Newsweek’s list of Top Online Colleges 2023 includes five in Alabama, including the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which ranked 15th. Others on the list included Troy University at 27th, Auburn University at 46th, Columbia Southern University at 114th and the University of Alabama at 146th.  – Newsweek

 

Trenholm State expands trucking offering

Montgomery’s Trenholm State Community College has opened a second truck driving school. This year, the truck training site on the Troy Highway has trained about 200 new drivers. The new school is on the west side of Montgomery.  – WSFA 12
