The FBI’s operation at Huntsville’s Redstone Arsenal could add 500 employees by the end of the year. FBI Assistant Director Johnnie Sharp says the agency has 1,800 employees there now and plans to grow to about 2,300 by the end of 2023. – Redstone Rocket

School system may purchase Mobile stadium

The Mobile County Public School Systems is in talks to purchase Ladd-Peebles Stadium for $1. WKRG-TV reports the city and the school district would each contribute $10 million to the project over the next 10 years. – News 5

Alabama HBCCs receive scholarships

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund has accepted six historically black community colleges to receive scholarships, and they’re all from Alabama. The schools are Bishop State, Drake State, Gadsden State, Lawson State, Shelton State and Trenholm State. – Bama Buzz

Alabama metros all seeing historic low unemployment

Gov. Kay Ivey said all 12 Alabama metro areas ranked among the lowest metropolitan unemployment rates in the country in April. That includes Huntsville and Decatur, tied for fourth place nationally with a 1.4% unemployment rate, the governor said. – AL.com
