EBSCO invests in Georgia renewable energy company

Birmingham-based EBSCO Industries has invested in Cherry Street Energy, a renewable power company in Georgia. Cherry Street has its own infrastructure and charges customers for the renewable power they consume. Clients include the cities of Atlanta and Savannah, Emory University and Gulfstream.  – Bama Buzz

 

Ivey proclaims HBCU Month

Gov. Kay Ivey has proclaimed October as Alabama HBCU Month. Alabama has the largest number of HBCUs – historically Black colleges and universities – in the nation. There are 14 HBCUs in Alabama. – Alabama Political Reporter

Belle Chevre buys goat cheese brand

Shoals Black Business Expo planned

The sixth annual Shoals Black Business Expo will take place Oct. 23 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the North Alabama State Fairground in Muscle Shoals. At the event, local business owners sell their products and network with the community.
