Daechang Seat Corp. plans Phenix City expansion

$23 million project will include new facility, 300 jobs

Daechang Seat Corp. USA will expand its manufacturing operations in Phenix City with a $23.4 million investment that will include a new facility.

That facility will be built on 22 acres purchased from the city in the Phenix Industrial Park. Daechang, which has been in Phenix City since 2019, projects 300 new jobs over the next three years.

“We’re thankful for the continued partnership that we have with DSC, and we’re excited to work alongside them in this expansion project,” said Eddie Lowe, mayor of Phenix City. “This continues to show that we are moving in the right direction and is evidence that Phenix City is a great place to do business.”

Daechang is a South Korean company that has become one of the largest car seat frame producers in the world.

Construction will begin immediately, and the new facility is projected to be in operation the first quarter of 2023. Montgomery’s Marshall Design Build LLC is the general contractor.
