Four companies that built solar energy facilities in three states, including Alabama, have been fined $1.3 million for violating construction permits and groundwater-handling rules. The Alabama solar farm involved is near LaFayette and was built by AL Solar A LLC.  – Fox News

 

Poarch Creek documentary airs Thursday

A new documentary about Alabama’s Poarch Band of Creek Indians will air on Alabama Public Television Thursday at 8:30 p.m. The documentary, produced by Jacksonville State University’s Longleaf Studios, is called “The Forgotten Creeks.”  – Alabama Today

Kitchens lands in Wichita Falls

Ron Kitchens, who left the Birmingham Business Alliance after serving as CEO for about a year, has been named president and CEO of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Texas. He starts the new job Nov. 28.  – Times Record News

 

All community colleges have apprenticeships

Every community or technical college in Alabama now has at least one apprenticeship registered through the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship. Apprenticeships allow students to work for pay for companies within their field of study while also earning college credit.  – NBC 15
