Chicken Salad Chick Moves into 16th State

Chicken Salad Chick treasures its Southern heritage

Auburn-based Chicken Salad Chick is opening a location in Richmond, Virginia, in early October — its fourth new state this year and bringing the total to 16 states.

Stacy Brown founded the company in 2008, offering a dozen flavors of chicken salad with a variety of sides and desserts. Products are made fresh daily in each location.

The brand was already expanding when, in 2015, Eagle Merchant Partners purchased a majority stake in the firm. There are now 130 restaurants in 16 states.

“Richmond, which ranked in the top 10 on Yelp’s Top Food Destination list this year, is known for its unique and flavorful eateries,” said Scott Deviney, CEO of Chicken Salad Chick.

New states this year for the restaurant, in addition to Virginia, are Missouri, Ohio and Illinois.

Tim Collins, one of the owners of the Virginia store, said, “Introducing a new restaurant concept to a foodie town like Richmond is exciting as there is a certain level or curiosity, anticipation and eagerness that brews amongst residents.”
