Birmingham wants to revitalize historic neighborhood
The City of Birmingham has applied for a $50 million federal grant to revitalize the Smithfield community. The Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is meant to help replace distressed public housing and improve surrounding neighborhoods.
