Breeze Airways, which serves Huntsville and celebrates its first flight to Mobile tomorrow, has announced fare discounts to celebrate its first month of operating profit. Details on the discount, available through Wednesday, are here.

Founded in 2019 and then delayed by the pandemic, the airline now serves 56 cities in 29 states.

Breeze has a special tie to Mobile because it flies primarily the Airbus 220-300 aircraft that are built next door to the airport. The airline plans to fly that model exclusively by this fall.

“This milestone is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and pure grit of the more than 1,800 Team Members who, despite a multitude of challenges and setbacks, persevered to build something truly impactful,” said founder David Neeleman. “Starting an airline is not for the faint of heart but we have remained true to our purpose — to give millions of travelers in underserved markets access to efficient and affordable air travel.”

Airline President Tom Doxey added, “It’s truly remarkable what Breeze has been able to achieve in such a short period of time. In just the first quarter of 2024 alone, Breeze realized several major wins including doubling our revenue year-over-year and launching a co-branded credit card, while running a safe, on-time operation. I’m immensely proud of this team and excited to see where we go from here.”
