Both Boeing and Regions Bank are giving money to support tornado relief efforts in the South, including Alabama.

Boeing is giving $250,000 to three groups helping victims in Alabama and Mississippi, and Regions is giving $60,000, along with financial services to support consumers and businesses affected by the outbreak of tornadoes earlier this year. Selma was one of the hard-hit areas during the outbreak.

Boeing, through its Boeing Charitable Trust, is giving $100,000 each to the American Red Cross and Feed America, plus $50,000 to Samaritan’s Purse. The latter will support recovery efforts across Mississippi.

“Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the recent tornadoes in Mississippi and Alabama,” said Ziad Ojakli, Boeing’s executive vice president of Government Operations. “We’re partnering closely with organizations that can quickly provide support to those in need during this challenging time, and we remain committed to these communities as they recover in the days ahead.”

The Regions Foundation is giving $50,000 to the American Red Cross and $10,000 to the Mississippi Food Network.

“From the Mississippi Delta to Alabama, Georgia, and elsewhere, people are hurting, and many communities face overwhelming needs,” said Marta Self, executive director of the Regions Foundation. “The best way the Regions Foundation can make a difference is to support organizations that are on the ground doing what they do best – helping people and communities during a time of unspeakable tragedy.”

In addition, the bank is offering financial services to customers in parts of Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.
