Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama may be close to announcing an adjustment in its schedule of premium payments, owing to the ongoing virus crisis.
“This is an unprecedented time, and we are doing all we can to assist our customers — both employers and their employees. As such, we are working to add some flexibility to our standard payment deadlines for a period of time,” said Koko Mackin, vice president, Corporate Communications and Community Relations at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, in an email to Business Alabama.
Tim Vines, the CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, was one of the first Alabama business leaders to respond to our inquiry asking for commentaries on the business side of the ongoing virus crisis, published last week.
Readers asked us to ask a follow-up question — whether the company was considering deferment of payments in light of the current situation.
Mackin gave us her prompt response.
