Alabama unemployment rate at record low

Mobile airport will have sustainable tower

Mobile’s new commercial airport at the Brookley Aeroplex will have a sustainable design for its air traffic control tower, one of only 31 airports in the U.S. to have one. Designs of the towers will be tailored to local climate and location issues, such as high winds. – AL.com

Austal christens USS Kingsville

Austal USA has christened the future USS Kingsville, a Littoral Combat Ship built at the company’s Mobile shipyard. The ship is the first named for Kingsville, Texas. – Austal USA

 

Nike coming to Birmingham’s Summit

Nike has announced via an Instagram post and a sign at its future location that it will be opening at the Summit in Birmingham. It will be the shoe giant’s third location in Alabama and its first that’s not in an outlet mall.  – Bham Now
