Birmingham-Southern College has filed a lawsuit against Alabama State Treasurer Young Boozer after he denied the college a requested $27 million in bailout funding. Gov. Kay Ivey created a new loan program for public and private universities, and BSC says that Boozer has denied the college’s application.  – AL.com

 

Montevallo moves MBA program to Hoover

The University of Montevallo has moved its Master of Business Administration program to the Shelby-Hoover Campus of Jefferson State Community College to make the program more convenient for Birmingham-area residents. The UM MBA program features online, blended and in-person modalities for students. – University of Montevallo

Fiber Utility Network names new CTO

The Fiber Utility Network, a coalition of eight electric co-ops around the state, has named Chris Skelton as its chief technology officer. He most recently was chief technology and operations officer for a national ISP company.  – Alabama Political Reporter
